To get started with our therapy services, please call or e-mail the clinician you are interested in meeting and request a brief phone consultation or an initial consultation appointment.
What to Expect During the First Session
The first session will be focused on gathering detailed information about your immediate concerns as well as your background. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask your therapist questions about their approach and how they tend to work with individuals who have concerns similar to yours, so that you can assess goodness of fit.
At the end of your initial consultation, your therapist will give you feedback and will share initial ideas regarding a treatment plan. The first few sessions provide further opportunities to assess fit and adjust the treatment plan as needed. If we decide not to work together for any reason, we will gladly provide you with options for other referrals.
In-Person or Virtual?
Either or Both! We provide virtual therapy via a HIPAA-Compliant platform that is easy to use and accessible via computer, tablet, or phone. We are also welcoming clients for in-person services at this time.
You may choose the format that feels right for you and that meets your personal health needs. If you choose to attend sessions in-person, please know that we have developed a plan to protect to the fullest extent possible your health and safety.
We respect your personal decisions and preferences and will remain flexible about your session format as the pandemic evolves.
Insurance & Fees
Each of our clinicians sets their own rates, and we are all out-of-network providers. This means that our clients are responsible for the full fee at the time of the appointment, and a certain percentage of the fee may be reimbursed to clients by their insurance company.
The fees for an initial consultation, and for couples therapy are typically higher than the fee for ongoing individual therapy services.
Individual therapy rates at Juniper Psych range from $190-$250 per 50 minute session.
Please visit the individual clinician pages for more information.
How to Use Out-of-Network Benefits
Because plan benefits vary, you may wish to call your insurance carrier directly to obtain accurate information about what your plan covers for out-of-network providers.
Be sure to ask the following questions to clarify your out-of-network benefits:
- What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health?
- How much of my deductible has been met this year?
- What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health?
- Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
- How and where do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
We provide our clients with detailed receipts called superbills to submit for possible reimbursement.
